I just called to play “I love you.”
It’s Father’s Day… tell him you love him with a live music recital.
• Top musicians perform Father’s Day music live on family video conference calls • Families gift fathers personalized recitals in classical, jazz, opera, pop and rock • All profits go towards supporting the charities Mind, Age UK and Refuge
(London, June 2020): Lockdown Presents, the platform that connects professional musicians and singers to private audiences everywhere for live mini-concerts via video conference call, has a special surprise in store for much-loved dads on Father’s Day.
The interactive online gift experience offers families the chance to book a personalised live performance of dad’s favourite piece of music during the family video-call this Sunday (21 June).
“The thrill and pop-up surprise of a dedicated live mini-concert makes for a unique last minute gift that fathers will always remember,” said co-founder Simone Girardeau.
“We created Lockdown Presents to provide new ways for people to enjoy live music and share the experience with friends and family during the coronavirus outbreak. Father’s Day is a great opportunity. If there is a particular piece of opera or jazz, or a song your father’s always enjoyed, here’s a chance for him to hear it live and talk to the professional artist,” she said.
Simone and partner Steffen Hoyemsvoll, both 30, first developed the idea after calling on musician friends to give a special recital via Zoom for Simone’s 83-year-old grandmother Mags Garel, as she shielded from the COVID-19 pandemic at her home in South Wales.
Artists available to book include flute player Chloë Vincent who has performed with The Who and Madonna, as well as playing for the Queen; English National Opera Harewood Artist Elgan Thomas; and international saxophonist Greg Sinclair who has performed at the legendary jazz club Ronnie Scott’s and the O2 Arena.
Sophie Dicks, who has performed with the Welsh National Opera and Opera Holland Park, said: “Lockdown Presents is a great concept because it gives singers like myself an opportunity to keep performing when venues are closed and shows have been cancelled. It's lovely to have a reason to perform again. I enjoy being able to interact with my audiences on a more personal level and see the smiles on their faces.”
Lockdown Presents makes a donation from each booking to the charities Mind, Age UK and Refuge to support the work they do helping vulnerable people affected by the pandemic.
